Our goal is for you to experience a positive tummy tuck recovery. Therefore to minimize swelling, certain dressings or bandages may be applied to your incisions. Compression garments may also be fitted to support your abdomen and assist in healing. Small, thin tubes known as “drains” may be temporarily placed under the skin to help remove excess blood or fluid that may collect.

Abdominoplasty 2_Page_2

Dr. Bailey or your nurse will provide specific instructions on how to care for the surgical site and abdominoplasty drains as well as any medications to apply or be taken. These medications are very important in aiding healing and reduction of the potential for infection. You will also be advised on how to spot specific concerns at the surgical site, in your general health, and when to follow up Dr. Bailey and his staff.
